Our Roof Nurse Clinical evaluation includes the ABCs of roofing which are Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.
A roof must have a way for Air to move in and out of the attic or roof space to maintain roof health. Examples of this would be ridge vents, attic vents and soffit vents. Most homes have a combination of these.
Proper placement and installation provides a pathway or Breathing mechanism for cool fresh air to enter the attic or roof space and warmer stale air to escape.
This air Circulation helps prevent the trapping of moisture thus helping to prevent development of mold in your attic or roof space.
Our Roof Nurse Performance report includes:
- Checking for leaks, torn shingles, dings & divots that can be caused by hail damage.
- “Nail pops” (Where a nail is backing out of a decking. This makes a shingle look like it is smiling.)
- Checks for pipe boot failure (possible leak at seal around vent pipe) and improper pipe boot installation.
- Evaluate dormers for leaks in the valleys and the flashing around dormers and dead walls.
- Evaluate Chimneys for the need of a cricket (water diverter) Chimney repair should be done by a qualified mason. If Roof Nurse identifies a challenge with the chimney other than the need for water diversion, we will provide pictures and a report that the homeowner can give to a qualified mason of their choice.
- Roof Nurse evaluates gutters for failure leading to backing up of water that might damage your roof, soffit or fascia.
Our Roof Nurse Repair, replace or clean bill of health service:
Roof Nurse is very excited when we can provide the homeowner with a clean bill of health for their roof. When this is not possible Roof Nurse can provide the following.
- Repair roof leaks with matching shingles if they are still available on the market. Current available color selections may vary.
- Repair soffit and fascia that are failing or damaged. At times this is from animals or birds accessing your attic. While Roof Nurse can repair the damage done by animals or birds we are not able to provide pest control services.
- Clean gutters, replace gutters and downspouts, provide gutter covers to prevent future clogging of gutters and downspouts.
